Transcript of the remarks recorded at the Preservation Creek groundbreaking in September 2025. Statements describe plans and timelines as they stood at that time.
This has been a long time coming. I'm very excited to be working on this project with the City of Alvin and my team. To date we have done our entire land plan. We are working on our detention for phase one as well as the water plant and we are soon to start our sections. This has been a long time coming and I'm honestly super excited just to see our contractors out here moving dirt.
Right now we have our mass grading and detention, our water plant, our wastewater treatment plant and we're going to have our first ten sections for phase one starting very, very shortly and being completed by the end of this year.
This is almost a 3,000 acre development. We're going to have a wonderful regional park. We're going to have such amazing amenities for our residents and it's going to create a Texas country chic feel that is going to be so amazing and so unique to this area as commercial development comes down to this area and I'm just really, really excited to just be a part of this from the beginning to the end.
It's been a lot of hard work. We have so many amazing team members from engineers to our attorneys to our in-house team, just all working so hard to bring this to life and I'm so appreciative of every one of them and I'm so proud to just be overseeing all of it and just being a part of such a wonderful team and creating a wonderful community.
This project has been around for a while. The land has been annexed to the city of Alvin in 2002 but this is a good project. It's a big project and it's going to be a cornerstone for Alvin on the west side. At some point in time, it will all be developed so we're excited about it and anything we can do to help, we're glad to do it.
So how did we start here? We started with the landowners. We found them in 2020-2021 and began working with them on what we would like to do with this property. How could we make this into something different and memorable and exciting and that would blend in with the existing story that Alvin and Brazoria County already have built for themselves.
So we came up with the name Preservation Creek. We want to keep it, maintain it and preserve it in its natural state but we also want to preserve family lifestyles. We want to preserve relationships. We just want to preserve all of the natural things and all of the human parts of life.
So that's our dream and we're really excited to get phase one started.
We've built a great partnership with the city of Alvin. The mayor and staff and all of the city council embraced this property because they know what we can do here and what this property can be. We have a great team of consultants that have helped us design this project and that will work through this project with us.
We're all very excited. It's great to see it get kicked off. This is a happy day for us.
